“Tsipouro ton filon” was awarded with a gold medal at the 18th International Wine and Spirits Competition in Thessaloniki.

Only three gold medals were handed out at the fourth spirits competition for wine or pomace brandies, The Tsipouro (pomace brandy) of the Lafazanis winery won as the only non-barrique distillate! This underpins the fame that Tsipouro “ton Filon” is one of the leading pomace brandies in Greece and emphasizes the complexity and its diverse character.

The pomace brandy / Tsipouro “the Friends” is a cuvee from the grape varieties of the Nemea region: Agiorgitiko, Savatiano and Muscat.

Its fine and special character is achieved by the careful processing of the raw material, the mash is passed after the first press to a Vinifier and fermented at temperatures of 16-18 ° C, so that all grape varieties retain their aromatic, qualitative characteristics and show them typically after distilling it at its final stage.

The International Competition of Thessaloniki, is a highly acclaimed institution in the world of wines and distillates, which is held each year with a weekend tasting attended by 25 recognized professional wine tasters.
