Kleones Terroir
Deep ruby color with rich aromas of black fruits and pepper. Smoky notes of vanilla and spices are framed by dried tomato, mint, and leather. On the palate, it is dry and full-bodied, with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, spicy finish.
The three selected vineyard plots that are combined to form our P.D.O. Nemea are located at altitudes ranging from 250 to 400 meters, on clay and limestone soils. The vineyards are cultivated at a density of 400 vines per stremma, with an average yield of 900 kg per stremma, aiming to enhance fruit concentration and quality.
Harvest takes place between September 15 and 25. After separate reception of each vineyard plot, vinification follows individually, with an 8-day extraction period in contact with the skins, frequent pump-overs, and controlled fermentation at 23°C. The wine then matures for 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels and subsequently ages for a further 12 months in bottle, gaining structure and complexity.
